Slamm Stunt Scooters
Slamm Scooters have become the fastest selling Stunt Scooter in the UK. Stunt Scooters can differ from a standard kid's scooter as they are built with performance and durability in mind. Some of the kid's scooters on the market these days will have options like folding bars for easy transportation. However with a stunt scooter you need the bars to ultimately be welded to the deck for strength. Decks on stunt scooters tend to also be constructed of reinforced materials like aluminium so they don't snap when tricks and stunts are landed on them.
Slamm are a UK brand that unbelievable have only been around a few years and already produce some of the best stunt scooters in their price range. Yes you can get other brands of scooters that are just as epic but you will pay more for these scooters. Your standard push scooter has been around for approximately 10 years now but in the past few years there has been an explosion in the stunt rider. Being able to perfect triple tail whips or back flips on stunt scooter is where the scooter world is at. Slamm have their own pro rider team who not only get to test run these scooters and new models as they come out, they also have input into the design process on what should go into a scooter to make it a worthy ride.
What Slamm Scooters have managed to produce is a range of stunt scooters that fit the beginner right through to the pro rider. Right now they are on their second versions of all their models with each one being improved upon.
Slamm Rage
For the beginner and probably the most popular of the Slamm models is the Slamm Rage. This scooter is just perfect for those progressing from their first push scooter into the stunt scooter market. This model comes with a slightly shorter deck and slightly higher handlebars than the other models. This makes starting off practising and mastering stunts and trick a little easier. The Slamm Rage 2 got better by having a square down tube rather than a circular one that its predecessor had. The reason for this was for pure strength in the down tube stopping the chance of the down tube breaking from landing force. The Rage 2 also came out with new dipped BMX bars for ultimate style. At around the £70.00 mark you really will not find a better starter stunt scooter than this.
Slamm Outbreak-Outbreak Pro
The Slamm Outbreak is the middle man in their range with the Slamm Outbreak Pro the top dog. Both these models are aimed at the most serious of riders. So what's the difference for your money? The top dog the outbreak pro gives you a Y-bar one piece with a 5° Back sweep whereas the Outbreak gives you a T-bar one piece. The deck is a fraction shorter on the pro model and comes with a 3° concave. Both models have reinforced heat treated decks for strength. The bearings on both models are top end ABEC 7 but the wheels on the Outbreak Pro are metal core compared to nylon core on the Outbreak.
News just in from Slamm is that both these models are getting a further upgrade. Due to be released around the end of February 2012 the Outbreak and Outbreak Pro have some great improvements. A Semi sealed threaded headset giving you super smooth tail whips. Coned axle bolts, reducing the risk of rounding and reinforced steel threaded fork for added strength. This is fantastic for us and is really making Slamm Scooters stand apart from the rest. They have also maintained the price but as usual you need to be quick to get the design you want as Slamm Scooters sell fast!
Slamm Scooters - The Ultimate Stunt ScooterWakeboarding continues to become a very popular sport. Professional riders perform tricks that seem impossible and truly daring. Most of these tricks can only be performed if the boat towing the rider has a wakeboarding tower. This accessory allows riders to get higher in the air without being slammed into the water when gravity pulls them back down. This also allows the rider to make tricks that seem impossible to perform.
Attaching a wakeboard rope atop a wakeboard tower has various advantages, the most obvious one is increased hang time. When the rope is attached directly at the hull, the boat would pull the rider back down to the water. You would not catch much time in the air, to perform other tricks.
These towers are mostly standard equipment on wakeboard boats. They are usually made of metal and come in a wide variety of different shapes and designs. Some designs can also allow for storing some items such as wakeboards, safety gear, and other equipment.
If your boat does not come with a wakeboarding tower as standard, then you are left with two choices. You could either buy one from reputable manufacturers or you could go ahead and build yourself one. Buying readymade towers have lots of benefits. These towers are constructed with high grade materials and years of research.
When buying a tower, make sure that it is constructed according to your needs. Take note of the materials used for construction. It must have a good balance of style, durability, and utility. Also make sure that the tower has detailed instructions on how to attach it to your boat. Even a little defect in workmanship can have disastrous results at high speed.
If you want your tower to be truly unique and customized, building your own tower is the way to go. There are many designs all over the internet for custom built towers, but almost all of them require some experience in welding metals. One downside of building custom towers is that its cost can be much higher than purchasing premade towers. It is just up to you to decide on whether it is justifiable to build your custom tower or just stick with the preassembled ones.
One great modification that people have done with these towers is by installing speakers. With these, even the rider can hear their favorite tunes while hanging on and being towed by the wakeboard boat. If you want to install speakers, keep in mind that it needs to be powerful. The boat produces a lot of noise, and some noise can also come from the waters. With loud speakers, you could hear the music over the noise. Just be sure that the speakers you install are waterproof and weatherproof.
Wakeboarding is a fun sport. You could get a lot of excitement even if you only install the tow cable on its stock position. But if you want to take it to another level, then installing a wakeboarding tower on top of your boat can give you lots of adrenalin packed fun.
The Benefits of Having a Wakeboarding Tower on Your BoatOne great thing about the Internet is it brings people together from all parts of the country and even worldwide who have the same hobbies. Take bicycling for instance; there are many cyclists around the United States who enjoy the sport immensely, as some ride mountain bikes on trails, some ride BMX bikes for tricks and to race, and some race road bikes like those in the Tour de France. Each group has social networks, and groups of folks that get together to discuss their hobbies in Internet forums, chat rooms, and on blogs.
The bicycle manufacturers are very wise to cater to these groups, as many of them are brand loyalists. Additionally, those who write online articles can cater to groups like this, creating content that they might enjoy on the specifics in the industry, and their niche or type of bikes that they ride. When writing bicycle content is important to get inside the heads of those that ride the bikes, and to write the articles towards their way of thinking.
When discussing road bikes the riders are interested in smooth shifting, solid frames, comfortable rides, wait, and speed. They are also very interested in price and value. The equipment they use other than the bike is also very important to them, but most of all they like articles they test new products, explain the types of diets that cyclists need, along with the best attire for a comfortable long ride.
If you will gear your articles towards these types of things you will find that bicycle magazine editors will be happy to pay you for them, and your articles will be published online where ever you submit them. Please consider all this.
Bicycle Content - How to Write Articles on CyclingThe mountain bike is a popular, versatile bike that can be ridden off-road and on road. Check it out, along with these other types of bikes:
Road Bikes / Cycles
These are the types of bicycles you will see being used in popular road races. If you want to get serious about cycling, this is probably the bike for you. Their streamlined and lightweight design make them more aerodynamic than other classes of bicycles. Handlebars swing downwards, so that the rider can assume a crouched aerodynamic position when riding. The main limitation on road bikes is that they are not too well suited to off-road terrain, due to their thin tyres and lightweight frame.
Mountain Bikes
Mountain bikes are a great all round versatile bicycle. Their frames are normally much thicker and sturdier than those of road bikes. As the name suggests, they are well suited to "mountain" type off-road trails, with multiple gears helping the rider negotiate varying gradients. Tyres are also quite thick with gripping tread. A rider assumes a more upright position when riding, compared to a road bike, with flat handlebars and suspension (on better bikes) also assisting with changes in terrain. While mountain bikes aren't as sleek as road bikes, they are still a decent ride on road as well.
BMXs
Many kids would have grown up idolising professional BMX riders with their daredevil tricks and fearless movement racing around challenging dirt tracks. These are the BMX's two main uses. With a smaller, strong frame, BMXs have no gears, with pure peddling power strength required to move the bike along. Short for Bicycle Motocross, these bikes were purpose designed for bumpy, dirt track racing. The sport's popularity is evidenced by its inclusion in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Some BMX riders seek to perfect difficult stunts and tricks, more akin to performance than actual bike riding. Some freestyle BMX stunts can be seen in events featured in extreme sports competitions.
Foldable Bikes
From the sporting to the practical, foldable bikes are a convenient option, allowing the rider to fold up their bike into a compact size. Some may be able to packed away into a bike bag. Folding into a smaller size allows these bikes to be carried on public transport, and then unpacked for the next (riding) leg of the journey! Being foldable also makes these bikes easier to store, whether at home, office or on buses or planes. The more complex designs and parts of these bikes means they are usually a pricier option.
Motorised and Electric Bicycles
These bicycles provide assistance to the bike rider. Electric bicycles have become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly in China, where there are estimated to be around 120 million. Electric bikes are powered by an electric motor, which itself, is powered by a rechargeable battery. Different variations can either provide power on demand by handlebar initialisation (when natural cycling gets too tough!), or automatic, with electric assistance being given as a sensor on the bike judges the rider's cycling speed. Motorised bicycles use an internal combustion engine for power.
Riding BMX bikes can be great fun in off-road settings.
A Beginner's Guide to Different Types of BikesExtreme sports have traditionally been the preserve of only the maddest, baddest and most dangerous to know, and of course rebellious teenagers keen to worry their mums. However, as with any trend worth its salt, the history and variety of 'extreme' activities - also known as action, adventure or dangerous sports - are more interesting than many people realise, and there are well-established organisations which can help make delving into their adrenaline-pumping world almost as safe as any other hobby.
The phrase 'extreme sports' only came into use in the 1990s, probably thanks to the first television coverage of organised events like the X Games. Many enthusiasts actually dislike the term, arguing that most typical activities such as bungee jumping, hang gliding and ice climbing are not 'sports' in the sense of competing against others to win something, and the 'extreme' tag just smacks of mid-90s advertising hype.
Whatever you prefer to call it, extreme sports is a loose and ill-defined category which can include fairly mainstream pastimes like inline skating, BMX biking and snowboarding, (activities which can all involve elaborate spins, stunts and tricks) as well as more 'out-there' pursuits such as BASE jumping, freediving, zorbing, swooping, kite landboarding, volcano gliding, shark diving, octopus wrestling, nude parasailing, mafioso cuckolding (alright, that one's not real).
Just as some of these fall out of fashion - for instance, octopus wrestling is now considered cruel - new sports and clubs are growing up all the time, although several are tongue-in-cheek parodies such as extreme wheelbarrow and the celebrated extreme ironing. Skateboarding and snowboarding, or 'snurfing' as it was originally called, have been popular since their inception in the 1950s and 60s, while kite surfing can trace its origins back to thirteenth-century China when kites were used, just like sails on boats, to harness the power of the wind and allow streamlined, one-man canoes to go much faster for practical reasons, not just fun!
With so much choice and interest in these previously niche activities, it's unsurprising that an industry is springing up around extreme sports instruction and adventure holidays, where novices can learn the basics of a sport and then let loose their adventurous spirits in a supervised environment. These experiences could be the ideal gift for the 'person who has everything'; don't you know someone who'd rather spend their honeymoon in a cage in the Indian Ocean baiting great white sharks, than admiring their new toaster? Don't we all?! How about bouncing down a hill in a three-metre, transparent PVC ball, with or without the optional water, and other people, inside it? It's called zorbing, and it's seriously taking off as the latest way to spend a fun weekend, from New Zealand to Bournemouth.
Bear in mind that some activities should not be attempted by absolute beginners; the BASE jumping academy will only admit 'students' who have completed 200 skydives, and swooping, or 'extreme skydiving', is similar. As long as you're clued up about such regulations, got any necessary equipment, and perhaps made sure your life insurance is up to date, though, why not explore a new activity today - the sky really is the limit!
Leaps Of Faith - Extreme Sports With Adventurous AppealExtreme Sports are the latest craze in our culture and kids as young as four and five years old are fascinated with it. As a parent of a 16 year old who has been skateboarding and surfing since he was seven, I can tell you that it does make you nervous when they do the crazy tricks. Some people hate extreme sports and some people think they are a blessing, let's take a closer look.
The positive side of kids being involved in extreme sports in that they are out getting exercise and the television in your living room is starting to collect dust, plus your electric bill is lower. You have probably been hoping for this to happen for awhile but you aren't sure about the choice of sports. Although skateboarding is probably the first of the extreme sports, it is only the beginning. Some of the others that kids are really getting into these days include BMX biking and trickblading.
BMX bikes are like a regular bike on steroids, they are built heavy and tough to be able to take the punishment of all the jumps and tricks, plus they have special pegs for the feet and padding to protect the biker where they are most likely to come in contact with the bike. These bikes are designed mainly for tricks and racing and are mostly used on dirt tracks and courses.
Trickbladers use the same parks as skateboarders and wear specially designed roller blades with smaller thicker wheels and have an added feature called a grind plate to help them do tricks like sliding down rails. I know, it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it! The idea is to be able to do a lot of the same tricks performed by skateboarders.
Skateboarding is thought of as the original extreme sport beginning in the 1960s when surfers put wheels on short boards to give them a way to cross train when the surf wasn't up. These early skateboarders are probably amazed at the way the sport has developed with the huge half pipes and long rails that you see skateboarders riding today. It just makes me cringe to watch as they slide down a handrail while standing on a skateboard but incredibly my son has done it for over nine years and never broken a bone.
If you are like me, the first time that you watch your child go sailing through the air on a jump or paddling out in eight foot surf you will feel like your heart is going to pound out of your chest and you will be cringing every time they fall but as long as they have the right safety gear and are always with a buddy they will be fine, injuries are far more common in traditional sports. Encourage your kids, these days it's hard to get them to like anything.
Why Kids Are Crazy About Extreme SportsYou've done everything it takes to get your own game together, and you've been a man or woman who deserves what you want for sometime now. In fact, you've found a partner as terrific as you are, and the question has inevitably surfaced: Is it time to "pop the question" around here?
I believe a lot of us really have not spent enough time ruminating upon what it really takes to consider a decision to make marriage plans. And make no mistake, my friends, this is the kind of thought that should go on long before you are ever in the position to actually act upon what you think and / or feel.
Indeed, getting engaged should never be a "knee-jerk" decision. In fact, nothing involving "jerks" of any kind should ever be a consideration.
So whether you are in a serious relationship right now or not, let's consider the top ten signs to look for when considering marriage:
1) You are attracted to each other
First, you absolutely, positively must be sexually attracted to the object of your affection. This is NOT being shallow, as we've discussed previously. Don't you appreciate how I freely endorse making this a priority? Thought so. Feel better now? LOL
2) You actually like each other
Laugh if you will, but I've seen first-hand how couples justify long-term relationships despite getting on each other's nerves big time. I personally don't get it, and if you deserve what you want I surely hope you don't want that.
3) You've spent enough time together to really know each other
Let's not talk in terms of calendar time here. If a couple is in a long-distance-relationship (LDR) for two years and see each other once a month for two days, they may see each other about as much as a couple who lives two blocks apart and has been joined at the hip since they met a month ago. When you know that you've seen the person at his or her most relaxed (and at his or her worst, for that matter), then and only then are you in a position to speculate regarding what the future really holds.
4) You are on the same page spiritually
Don't underestimate the importance of this. If you believe that God should be at the center of your relationship, it can only be that way if your would-be partner agrees. If this hasn't been talked about yet, make it a priority to do so. Even if you are both agnostic or atheist, for that matter, it's still a good idea to discuss your world views and make sure you are in agreement on what your core beliefs are.
5) Your long-term goals are similar
If your futures are taking you in different directions, either someone is going to have to compromise, or your futures don't have each other in them. Period.
6) You know how to play together
Sure, she goes shoe shopping while he watches the NFL. But do you know how to enjoy leisure time together? We're not just talking about sex here? I always thought it would be amazing to find a woman who would want to go BMX racing with me. As it turns out, that wasn't so farfetched. Couples who play together stay together.
7) You both want to be married
Do both of you really desire marriage? If you feel you are trying to persuade someone out of the single life who still wants to be there then guess what...you are not making valuable use of your time.
8) The basics in your lives are handled
Are you mentally and physically healthy? Is your self-esteem in good shape? If you carry heavy concerns that consume you, it's not time to invite someone else into your world permanently. After all, that would only give your heavy concerns someone else to consume. And that's not part of a balanced relationship.
9) You have no doubt in your mind that your partner is committed to you as you are to him/her
Ah yes...the "trust" factor. Kill all jealousy in order to ready yourself for a committed relationship. And make darn skippy sure that's okay to do. If there are signs your future husband or wife would cheat on you, then forgettaboutit. Really.
10) You have no doubt in your mind that you are committed to your partner as he/she is to you
Turnabout is fair play here. Are you completely sure you are trustworthy? Do you harbor fantasies about cheating on your future spouse? If you are focusing too much on someone else--especially if that "someone else" is potentially available to you, then my suggestion is to get that resolved before feigning "commitment" to someone who would be truly committed to you.
Whether you feel you are ready for marriage or not is okay. One should never feel pressured either way. The framework for a solid marriage with a great long-term prognosis can only be established when both partners truly want to be there...and believe wholeheartedly in both the future and in each other.
After all, isn't that what love is for?

How Do You Know When It's Time To Get Married? You haven't picked up your bicycle yet? Well, if I were you I would hurry to get your Trek, Schwinn, Mongoose, or BMX bike because people all across the nation are turning to these brands for their cycling needs because of their durability and brand recognition.
Once thought to be just the domain of children and extreme sports athletes bicycling is an activity that is really picking up steam in the United States and catching on with the older as well as the young. The causes of the wave of bicyclists stem from factors such as rising gas prices, exercise purposes and overall health concerns. Specifically, bike riding offers the following benefits:
- dramatically improves cardiovascular activity and endurance
- strengthen and tones muscle and offers a full body workout at one time that places very little stress on the joints
- an economic alternative to gas powered vehicles and a low maintenance means of transportation
The benefits in riding a bicycle are almost infinite , and one of the benefits that was not mentioned above was the stress relief factor.
Although bicycle riding is very rewarding it may not be practical under certain circumstances, i.e., when travelling to work is impractical due to the distance or terrain or when there are other factors such as inclement weather.
Families are also taking advantage of the new bicycling craze and turning trips on bikes into family bonding time. Because these opportunities are a little difficult to find for most families as well as squeezing in some time for exercise, this allows for families to kill 2 birds with one stone combining exercise with quality family time. With obesity amongst children being at its highest levels in decades , this is definitely a plus.
Those that are choosing the biking lifestyle are buying, used bicycles as well as cheap bicycles and new bicycles. The most sales are for Trek bikes, Mongoose Bikes, BMX bikes and Schwinn bikes, however, the emergence and the popularity of the X Games has really boosted the demand for BMX bicycles which are better constructed for tricks and extreme BMX competition, which also applies to the Mongoose style of bicycle. Trek and Schwinn are known for their durability and name brand worthiness as brands that you can trust.
Last but not least, let us all keep in mind that safety when travelling by bike is of paramount importance . So please, make sure that everyone is wearing the proper protective gear such as helmets and pads and if you are riding at night make sure that you are wearing either light colored clothing or reflective clothing and have your bicycle outfitted with the appropriate reflectors and lights to make sure that you are seen while riding.
So go travel by bike! It is rewarding in more ways than one and an experience that you will never tire of.
